Moe'uhane has an associated IRC (Internet Relay Chat) room called #moeuhane, which is hosted by GameSurge. There are a variety of ways to connect to this room, using a piece of software called an IRC client. Any IRC client can connect to #moeuhane, and instructions for some clients are listed below.
Using the GameSurge online client
  1. Go to http://www.gamesurge.net/chat/moeuhane
  2. The frame that loads will ask you to pick a nickname. If you enter your Moe'uhane name, that will make it easier for others to recognize you.
  3. You are now in #moeuhane! Say hello :)
Using Adium (Mac OSX)
  1. Download and install the latest version of Adium from http://adium.im/
  2. Open Preferences (in the Adium menu, or Cmd-,) and go to the Accounts tab. Click the dropdown "+" button in the lower right corner of the window to add a new account. Select "IRC (Internet Relay Chat)"
  3. In the window that appears, under the Account tab, enter your Moe'uhane name next to Nickname, and "irc.gamesurge.net" next to Hostname. The Password field is optionally used if you have registered with GameSurge (you do not need to do this, but it helps ensure that others do not use the same name as you do).
  4. If you want to connect to #moeuhane automatically upon logging into your IRC account on Adium, go to the Options tab in this same window and type "/join #moeuhane" in the text box (under "Execute commands on connect:").
  5. Log into the IRC account (if this does not happen automatically, go to the Status menu item and make sure you are not set to Offline).
  6. If you did not opt to automatically connect to #moeuhane when you logged in, simply type "/join #moeuhane" into any of the new chat windows that appear (such as "global").
  7. You are now in #moeuhane! Say hello :)
Using X-Chat (Windows/Linux)
  1. Download x-chat: http://xchat.org/download/
  2. Once installed, the first time it runs the network list should appear. Scroll down to GameSurge
  3. If Gamesurge doesn't appear, click Add
  4. Name the network whatever you like (Gamesurge would make sense), then click edit
  5. Click on the default server "newserver/6667" and click edit, changing it to "irc.gamesurge.net", or if you're in the US, you may wish to try "irc.us.gamesurge.net" In either case, without the quotes
  6. Check the box to auto-connect to server on start-up, and put #moeuhane in your favorite channels. This will ensure that you automatically enter the Mu chat whenever X-Chat is started
  7. Close, to stop editing the network options, select the network and hit connect
